Alice has a passion for dancing, but she must put this love aside as she and her husband, Mark, struggle to meet the challenges of being Japanese-Americans during World War II. This book is based on the true story of Alice Sumida and shares her history while portraying her life through beautiful, watercolor pictures. Through perseverance and resourcefulness, Alice and Mark establish the largest gladiola bulb farm in the country.
